The next stop was La Paz Waterfall. I will not say to much about this, but it has to be one of the most beautiful sites in nature. It was just breathtaking. After the waterfall, we stopped at this nice little place for a snack. I think the snack was only Plantains. While I was eating, I noticed out of the corner of my eye these things buzzing around. As it turned out, these things were Hummingbirds. I was excited because I always wanted to photograph them. Of course it was raining ,the lighting was not optimal, and they are super fast. I did manage to get a few shots of them, but nothing worth framing and putting on your living room wall. After the short snack, we drove for a while and then reached a nice little resort area in the rain forest. This was the place where we would eat a great dinner and then board a boat and cruise the Sarapiqui River. Before dinner, I walked down some of the trails taking photos of some beautiful flowers, when I noticed some frogs. These were the Poison Arrow Frogs that I have always wanted to see in the wild. I only saw about 10. They were green and black and very pretty. I also saw one that had a bright red body with blue legs. I have heard them referred as the “Blue Jeans Frog”. Now this is a rain forest and of course it was raining, so it made photography a little tricky, but I was able to snap some good shots of them.

After Dinner, We boarded a covered boat and traversed the Sarapiqui River. It was a nice and relaxing ride. I saw a multitude of wildlife. Again it was raining so it was difficult to get any good pictures. A few of the many animals I saw included Howler Monkeys, Basilisks (Jesus Christ Lizard), Bats, Toucans, and many other birds. The Jesus Christ Lizards are pretty interesting animals. When they are threatened, they can run extremely fast allowing them to literally run on top of water and that's how they got their nick name. I also have to mention the tour guide Diego. Diego did an excellent job of not only showing us the nature and wildlife, but also teaching us the history and culture of Costa Rica. All in all, it was a wonderful experience that I will never forget.
