 Poas Volcano |
Poas Volcano is 2574 meters (approx 8884 feet). The crater of Poas Volcano is an awesome sight. It is very large crater measuring about 1 mile across and 1000 feet deep. I think I read somewhere that it is one of the largest volcano craters in the world. The sight of the crater was very interesting until the strong odor of the sulfur hits you; It nearly knocked me over!
 La Paz Waterfall |
La Paz Waterfall. I will not say to much about this, but it has to be one of the most beautiful sites in nature. It was just breathtaking.
 Poison Arrow Frog |
I walked down some of the trails taking photos of some beautiful flowers, when I noticed some frogs. These were the Poison Arrow Frogs that I have always wanted to see in the wild. I only saw about 10. They were green and black and very pretty. I also saw one that had a bright red body with blue legs. I have heard them referred as the “Blue Jeans Frog”. Now this is a rain forest and of course it was raining, so it made photography a little tricky, but I was able to snap some good shots of them.
 Arenal Volcano |
Arenal Volcano is considered to the 3rd most active volcano in the world and it stands out against the country side for many miles as you drive towards it; It is an awesome sight. They say Arenal Volcano erupts almost every day, but that day not even a rumble.
 Hot Springs |
Tabacon Resort is a very nice and scenic resort with hot springs from the volcano. Some of the water is so hot that you can burn yourself and some are like a Jacuzzi. The hot spring are very aesthetically pleasing to look at and the photos I took are among my favorite.
